Video Demonstrating 5GSPS and 8GSPS UWB Arbitrary Waveform Generation

Two arrays of 8 Libove pulsers with 125 and 200 picosecond taps, respectively, are used to generate 8 Gigasamples/second and 5 Gigasamples/second arbitrary waveforms using inexpensive DACs to control the waveshapes. Each generated 1600 or 1000 picosecond wave is comprised of 8 individually adjustable amplitude pulses, each 125ps wide. These 5 and 8 Gigasample/second arbitrary waveform bursts can be repeated at rates of up to 600 million bursts per second. The video shows the performance of the Libove Pulser rendered in GaAs as a single circuit. The next rendition will be quad arrays of pulsers and samplers in InP and is predicted to yield a substantial increase in performance. This technology is available today for licensing.
