Direct modulation, synthesis and sampling of waveforms up to 100GHz eliminates the need for up-conversion and down-conversion synthesizer stages in most satellite communications systems. Such direct conversion transmitters and receivers can significantly reduce the costs of manufacturing the next generation of satellite communication equipment. Additionally, the Furaxa pulser/sampler technology permits systems with complex signaling schemes, such as frequency-hopped, pseudo-jitter and complex signal envelope, to be economically deployed.
